You can easily spend a couple of days in Kuala Lumpur. Soaking up the city’s diverse Malay, Chinese and Indian cultures: the talks on the street, the abundance of fabulous food, and the mix of architecture. Appreciate the best of Kuala Lumpur’s attractions, like the colonial core around Merdeka Square and the enclaves of Little India and Chinatown. Off course you must not miss The Petronas Twin Towers, the headquarters of the national oil and gas company Petronas. To enjoy the best of Malaysian cuisine go on a food walk to experience the wide-range of cuisine shaped over time by the European, Indonesian, Indian and Chinese.
Around Kuala Lumpur there is also plenty to see. Bring a visit to Little India in Brickfields on your way to the Batu Caves. This area has been transformed into a colorful community with streets lined with quaint shops and restaurants. The Batu Caves are a massive limestone outcrop with interiors housing a Hindu shrine lined with different deities. Two other nice sights to visit outside Kuala Lumpur are Kuala Selangor and its magical fireflies; and the hard-to-reach birding hotspot of Fraser’s Hill.
