Unique Accommodation Next to Queen Elizabeth NP

Description

Our community camp is your ultimate accommodation during a trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park and to explore our community. Get a chance to taste the local cuisine and appreciate the hospitality of our community or explore the beautiful hidden lake. The camp is located near the elephant's favorite meeting point, a spot well known to the elephants.

With one of our community guides, you will go for a 36-hour trek. You will follow the Elephant tracks in the small forest on our property. The tour takes you to the hills that hold a legendary mountain lake. This lake is on a hill overlooking Queen Elizabeth National Park, a secret that has never gone beyond this community in this remote mountain village.

As soon as you arrive at the mountain lake, we will introduce you to the local farmer who will guide us around the lake. When returning, you will be rewarded with beautiful views of Queen Elizabeth National Park at the foot of the hills. With a binocular, you may be able to spot some of the big five grazings beside the crater lakes in the park. You will be rewarded with a delicious lunch back at the camp, and in the evening you can enjoy the sounds of nature and a delicious dinner.

The camp has three spacious self-contained twin rooms with private toilets and overhead showers. These rooms are solar lit with furnished beds and extra furniture in each room. Every room has a balcony so that you can view the birds and nature from the veranda. The camp also has five private jungle camping shades with hardened floors, making it suitable for all types of weather. We have massive parking spaces for those who may want to camp in their car.

With this camp, we seek to generate income that helps our community to coexist with the elephants by participating in conserving the elephant habitat and using tourism to create alternative livelihoods.

Reviews

I stayed here only 2 nights, but I had a wonderful experience during my stay. The area is very calm and peaceful. The village walk was very interesting to discover new knowledge, and I really felt that I could see the local life. The staff was very nice and the room is very clean and comfortable. I also enjoyed the delicious meals every day.
