Description
My name is Reuben and I am passionate about my area. During this experience, I will take you Tengeru where we will visit a group of local potters who create beautiful and functional pieces of locally mined clay.
You have the chance to learn how to make a clay pot and flower pot yourself using our traditional techniques.
You will turn it on a foot-powered wheel, and fire it in a traditional kiln to be used either for the garden or for cooking.
Furthermore, you will have the chance to make a sugar pot or any other small pot as a memory or gift to take home with you.
After or during the class, you can join the potters for tea/coffee to share stories and cultural insights.
I hope to see you soon!
