Pang Na Homestay

Description

You can do many things at our Pang Na homestay, such as joining my Mom to visit the local market, a colorful and vibrant place where you can buy just about anything. The market stalls surround a small lake where fruits, vegetables, meat, and bread are sold. At the market, you can pick your own ingredients for dinner and watch Mom haggling and joking with the sellers.

You can also join in our daily farming activities, as farming is the primary income for the villagers. We will show you how to grow fruits and vegetables in a very organic way. You can also hop on a bicycle to explore your surroundings and meet friendly local people.

A couple of years ago, I built a small school next to our house to offer free English classes to the local children as learning English is not possible for many kids in Cambodia. I try to finance this by offering a homestay to travelers.

We also have some beautiful pagodas and an animal rescue center where I can take you. So you'll never feel bored when staying with us.

Every morning we will prepare a fresh breakfast with various eggs, baguettes, rice, vegetables, bacon, and fresh fruits served in our garden. We will serve you traditional Khmer meals prepared with fresh ingredients from the market for lunch and dinner.

At the moment, you can use one of the dormitories. Fans are available in every room. Freshwater is also available, so you can use a bucket shower to start the day. It would be great if you could bring your toiletries and towels.

Every dollar you spend at our homestay will stay in the village and support the families and finance the children's education.

Reviews

In Pang Na, you forget about all your worries. Mr. Thy, his wife, and the two daughters took care of me and my friends; they cooked tons of food for us and were courteous the whole time we stayed there. Mr. Thy gave us interesting insights into the Cambodian religions and culture, not only at the temples but also in the everyday life in the village. For me, there was no better way to get to know Cambodia.

I've been there for 5 days and it was stunning. On one side a beautiful landscape and really nice people who want to share everything they have.

About Me

Hello, my name is Seng Thy and I live in Pang Na, a small village 40 km outside Phnom Penh. A few years ago, I started a school next to our house to provide the local children free English classes as this is for many children out of reach. My wife works in a factory close to the village, and our two daughters are visiting the public school. Our son is studying in Phnom Penh. We would love to welcome you to our village to experience genuine Cambodian hospitality.
