Kenyan Cooking Class with Lucy

Description

Hi, I am Lucy, and I have always been a great fan of healthy and organic food. As it is challenging to find this in Nairobi, I started my own little restaurant. I only work with locally sourced and healthy food. Therefore our dishes don't contain meat or fish. My chef or I can teach you the most delicious dishes like matoke (plantains in curry), githeri (mais and beans sauce), ndengu (mung beans), chapatti and many more during this cooking class.

I warmly welcome you in our tiny kitchen, where my chef will teach you all ins and outs of our Kenyan food.

Lucy was a wonderful, kind, and knowledgeable host. She taught us so much about nutrition as well as about cooking. Together we made four delicious traditional dishes that we can’t wait to try at home. Everyone in her home and her family were lovely. It was great to hear about their lives and share a little about ours in their family home. I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you, Lucy.

We really enjoyed the cooking class with Lucy a lot! Each one of the guys had fun cooking. Lucy and her husband created a very special moment for us as we ate lunch together.

The cooking class was great! We really liked the cooking class. It actually took place in Lucy!s home since they have closed the restaurant temporarily and are planning to open a new one soon and we have been very kindly welcomed by Lucy and her family members as well as by her chef David who was master in the cooking skills. We got many interesting information and tips for our own cooking. We promised Lucy that we will come to her new place once it will be opened. So we can recommend this cooking class definitely to others as well!

I have done many cooking classes around the world, but this is the first time I've actually helped a chef prepare lunch for customers! David and Steve were fabulous and it was a fascinating experience preparing a lunch menu for 30 people in a small kitchen with no appliances. If you want a glimpse of how a local Kenyan restaurant works and a taste (literally) of local food - I highly recommend this experience.

An exceptional experience for chefs or those who are competent in the kitchen. I was able to assist the chef with meal prep for the lunch buffet service at the restaurant and learn a few tricks. Cleanliness was stressed often, and the food was delicious!
