Prek Toal is a small floating village along the Sannke River near Tonle Sap Lake. On this Tonle Sap tour, you'll have the chance to immerse yourself in the local life of this village, which all depends on the water, the fish, and the rich flora and fauna.
If you are a birder or not, a visit to Prek Toal is an experience in itself. See the village on board a local's traditional paddle boat. Once you've settled in the boat, you've entered into a new world. It will give you a perfect insight into what the local people do from a floating family's house through the floating gardens, fish farms, and shops.
It is wonderful to see how local communities have marvelously adapted to living on the water.
You will have the time to relax and have a chat with the local family. Maybe you can even learn some Cambodian cooking if you like by lending them a hand. The sunset is stunning at the lake, so that is worth seeing too.
The following day after breakfast, we will visit a birding sanctuary where you can see many species of birds. Then it is time to say goodbye and continue to your next destination.

My name is Sovann and I was born in Kompong Chhnang province and moved to Siem Reap province in 2005. I joined an NGO a couple of years ago that integrates environmental education projects, ecotourism, and local livelihood development at the Tonle Sap Lake ecosystem. I like my job a lot because I love wildlife, and we support Prek Toal’s local economy by providing alternative income through ecotourism. I am happy to share my knowledge and experience with the ones curious to discover more about Tonle Sap’s lake conservation and local life.
