Homestay in Kitgum Northern Uganda

Description

We welcome you to our village Kitgum in the northern part of Uganda. This is where I was born and where my people and I would love to share our culture and home with you. We have several banda’s in the village, or if you'd like you can camp in your own tent.

There are many things to do around the village. We can take you on a two-hour village walk to get an understanding of life in our village, or you can even participate in our daily life. You can help with milking the cows, preparing the garden, fetching water at the well, or help with cooking. You can also climb Mount Ogul, which takes around two hours. In the evening you can enjoy eating with us and seeing our traditional dance.

About Me

Hi, my name is David and I was born in Kitgum in the Northern part of Uganda. I grew up in the civil war, which has created many problems and left many youth and children in a difficult situation. I started this community guesthouse together with Grassrootz to generate income for the community of my village. Besides this, I think it is an unforgettable experience to stay in a traditional village and learn the language and customs of my people. Kitgum is a perfect place also to visit the Kidepo National Park. We look forward to welcoming you and hope to see you soon!
