If you genuinely want to immerse yourself in local life in India, you have to stay in a rural village. We will visit two separate communities (a typical rural town and a tribal village) and see how they live. To truly understand how life is in the villages, you need to do some village work! For example, you can help plow the field, harvest the rice, make bricks, learn to carry water on your head. You can take part in other activities, such as fishing, swimming, and playing cricket.
The food is an essential part of the trip, and the lunch in one of the villager's homes is a highlight. Beware that you will be encouraged to eat with your hands!
You will also experience some stunning countryside and observe country life on the drive here and on the way back you will travel by boat.
If you want to make a lasting impact on the community, save just a few kilos of space in your suitcase and bring supplies for area schools or medical clinics in need, you'll make a priceless impact in the lives of our local children and families.
By going on one of our tours, you will contribute directly to our sister organization's work, a nonprofit organization. We run some educational projects directly ourselves in the Dharavi area, but we also support other NGOs (charities) doing great work in the same community. Learn more about the activities of our sister NGO here.
Me and my boyfriend did this Indian village experience. It was really interesting and nice to connect with the local people. We also had a lovely lunch with a local family. If you want to go off the beaten track then this is the thing to do!
I did this experience with my family. It was absolutely brilliantly done and a very rewarding experience. It was very informative and a great chance to connect to the local people. I hope more and more westerners can have this life-enriching experience.
What a great experience it was as we really immersed in Indian village life. The people were so friendly and curious and the food was indeed a highlight! I wish I could have stayed longer. Highly recommend it!
On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee.

Hello, we are a group of local guides from all over Mumbai. We love to meet people from around the world while having a positive impact on our community. Some of us are still studying, while others use this job to support the family or save money to start their own business or future study.
