Description
Registered in Cambodia as an NGO, our organization is focused on providing free education to children in rural parts so that they can have a better future. It is an unforgettable experience if you are interested in gaining meaningful insight into Khmer rural life.
Our village is located alongside Mekong River. We have built a school, and an organic farm. The purpose of our NGO and village is to give children basic training and teach them English, in order to make higher education accessible for them. All the money goes towards supporting our NGO school which provides English, Mathematics and Music classes to underprivileged local children, free of charge.
You will stay with a lovely local family in the village. All meals can be provided by the family at an additional price, to be paid directly to the family. If you prefer to stay in personal accommodation (if available) you can choose between a bamboo bungalow and a riverside house, at additional costs to be paid on arrival.
Bicycles are available for hire in the village to explore the surroundings. You can also enjoy an oxcart ride to the nearby farms. If you like, you can also join the locals in their daily activities and they can teach you how to work on the farm or how to make a Khmer house (at an additional price). You can also join the local fishermen for a day.
Traditional music and dance performances can be arranged if you wish. You can also hire a local guide who can show you around and explain about our culture.
How to get to our village
The village is just 6 km from Kampong Cham. It is easy to come by bus to Kampong Cham
from Phnom Penh (around 3 hours) or Siem Reap (around 5 hours). From any other place,
you may have to change the bus in Phnom Penh.
Once you are in Kampong Cham the best way to get to us is on a motorbike or tuk-tuk.
They know where to take you when you mention our name. But if you have any problem call Sophal and ask for directions. A motorbike should cost around 2 dollars and a
tuk-tuk around 5 dollars.

About Me
Hi! I am Sophal and I manage the NGO for its daily activities. We live here like a family and concentrate on providing good education to the children, who are the future of our village. The volunteer opportunity is a great way to have a look into our lives and experience the local culture. It is a very meaningful experience along with all the fun. I welcome you to our village and help us in making it a better place for future generations.
