Description
Come and spend a night with us in the Bore Community near Malindi, Kenya. We are part of a community organization working to empower communities along the coast of Kenya.
This experience is a fantastic way of getting a peek into local life and experiencing Kenyan culture to the fullest. The location is set in a dramatic landscape of vivid red cliffs and expansive planes as far as the eye can see. First, you will be picked up from either the bus station or airport in Malindi and taken to our community. The drive will be an experience in itself, as you feel yourself driving further and further away from the beaches of Malindi. Upon arrival, your experience can be as active or relaxed as you wish – if you want to read a book and take in the surroundings, that's fine. If you're the type who can't stay still, we have plenty to keep you busy!
You will have the option to undertake a cliff walk with one of our local villagers. This beautiful walk will take in jaw-dropping views and delve into the cliffs and canyons' rich history and traditions. Following this, you will learn how to cook a traditional dinner with one of our local women. Learn to make chapatti's, ugali, ndengu (lentil curry), mandazi, and more. Weather permitting, we will have a bonfire and sundowner in the evening while seeing the sunset. The following day, we can go on a short birdwatching tour before eating breakfast and departing to Malindi.
You will leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and wanting to come back and visit again as soon as possible!

About Me
Hi, I am Evelyn and I am part of a community-based organization. We have been working to support the community of Bore since 2012 through skills training, tree planting, and other activities to uplift the economic empowerment of our members. In 2017, we opened the Bore Community Forest Centre as a space for congregation and shared our beautiful surroundings and way of life with the outside world. Please, come and experience it for yourself!
