Bird Watching at Lake Baringo

Baringo is a shallow freshwater lake that lies 110 km north of Nakuru and is home to nearly 500 species of birds, which is its biggest draw. Baringo’s bird population rises and falls with the seasons as the dry season is usually the leanest time for birders, but the lakeshore resounds with birdsong (and frogs) at most times of the year. You can spot unusual species such as Madagascar Pond Heron, Lesser Flamingo, Pallid Harrier, Lesser Kestrel, Violet Wood Hoopoe, and various Kingfishers. On this 2-hour bird watching tour, we will show you the best places to spot the different species of birds while enjoying the incredible scenery of Baringo.

About Me

Hi, I am Lagat. Welcome to beautiful Kenya! I organize different trips around Lake Baringo with our community. I am a single father of three boys and two girls. My hobbies are traveling, bird watching, dancing, sports, fishing, and swimming. I started this group in 1996 because of lack of employment and poverty within our community youth, and now it is helping over twenty-five people.
