Rayong, Thailand

The Experience Reviews (0)

Duration: 3 days

Meeting Point: Not specified

Number of people: 2 - 6

  • Enjoy and experience a local fishing village in Rayong
  • Visit the largest fruit orchard in the area
  • Explore a hidden fertile mangrove forest
  • See the local way of life
  • Duration: 3 days
  • This is a private tour with a minimum of 2 people

We will leave Bangkok early morning by private minibus (approx. 3.5 hrs). On the way we will stop at one of the largest fruit orchards in the area, where you can enjoy a selection of tasty fresh fruits straight from the tree. Upon arrival at the fishing village you will be warmly welcomed by the local family you are staying with the next two nights. After lunch you can cycle around the area and see their way of life. One of the highlights will be a visit to the fertile mangrove forest. Afterwards there will be plenty of free time to enjoy yourself and explore the village before settling down for the night.

The next morning you can sit down and enjoy a large breakfast before preparing for your boat journey to Mon Nai and Mon Klang Island for a day of snorkeling and swimming at their beautiful white-sand beaches. You can also visit the sea turtle conservation project on the island, which is part of the Royal project, which works to cultivate the traditional way of life and preserve the natural resources of Thailand. After your trip, you will return to the homestay for a good rest. Feel free to explore the village or enjoy a friendly chat with the locals before putting your head down for the night.

The next morning you will be served a savory breakfast. You can visit the morning market, and if you are lucky, have the opportunity to offer food to the village monks as they make their morning alms round through the village on their way to the temple. Afterwards you will return to the homestay, pack your belongings and say goodbye to ‘your’ family. From here you can choose to transfer to the boat pier in Trad (about 2 hrs), then take a ferry across to Koh Chang or transfer back to Bangkok.

Hi, my name is Nutty. I earned my nickname because I like taking risks which often result in new traveling routes off the beaten track. I have 15 years experience as a guide and have a deep passion for sustainable tourism and responsible travel. I am a strong advocate of Community-Based Tourism and bringing benefits to small rural villages. Therefore I am collaborating with local guides from different communities and actively involve local villages. I can't guarantee that I will guide you, but then one of my fellow guides of the community will take care of you.
