This hike will lead you to all the best Palaui Island has to offer. From waterfalls to tropical jungle that is full of life to the Cape in the north with its lighthouse and amazing views. We will visit a mangrove with brightly colored crabs and tropical fish and hike through a rainforest of exotic plants. We walk along a rocky shore where low tide creates small pools with temporarily trapped fish. We will enjoy a lovely picnic lunch, meet with the locals and enjoy the magnificent views Palaui has to offer. You can even take a dip in the crystal clear waters that surround the island!
The island is covered for seventy percent with mountains, lush green forest and is home to thousands of tropical birds and mammals. It is a protected are and therefore a pristine place. It is located in the northern part of the Philippines and home to one of the best beaches of the Philippines according to CNN. The surrounding reefs, mangroves and tidal flats hold a wide range of species including some that are not even known to science. You can reach the island by taking a flight to Tuguegarao from where you can take a 3-hour ride to St. Ana and San Vincente port.
You can combine this activity with a stay on the island in a traditional family home or one of the other activities we offer.
This activity is part of a community-based sustainable tourism project in Palaui Island and by participating in it you will economically motivate local people to take care of the pristine ecosystems of the island. The local people are trained in being a (snorkeling or hiking) guide or use their other skills to offer to travelers.
