Meet the Local Community of Gawad Kalinga

Member since: August 2015

Five years ago, standing in the middle of a patch of redundant wasteland in the poverty-stricken province of Bulacan (two hours north of Manila), this farm was created with the idea to build a massive platform where society could converge: rich and poor, urban and rural, east and west. Together, they would maximize the potential of the Philippines’ two greatest assets: the wealth of its natural resources and the genius of its people, many of whom remained poor simply because they had been left behind by the rest. Today the farm consists of a mix of people: the local community that lives on the farm and entrepreneurial minds from all walks of life. Beautiful initiatives has been started since. Come and visit us while traveling the Philippines!
