  • Hike through dense forest and experience local village life
  • Visit the holy place of Manakamana and see dozens of pilgrims
  • Have a ride with a cable car that rises more than 1000 meters high for 2.8 km
  • Duration: 3 days

Our trip will start with a three hour drive to Ghorka where the Manakamana cable car starts. This cable car rises more than 1000 meter which provides you amazing Himalayan views of snow capped mountains. As soon as we arrive, we will check-in to the hotel and walk up to Manakamana Temple, a sacred place in Nepal. I will show you around and tell you the ancient stories of this place. After having a good nights rest we will hike to Taklung the next day. A small village where the Magar people live. You will see their day-to-day life and we will have a typical Nepalese lunch. After breakfast the next morning, we will hike back passing little villages and dense forest to Kurintar. Our car will be waiting for us to drive us back to Kathmandu. On the way back we will stop for a good, final lunch.

You will stay in a hotel with private bedroom and bathroom

Meet Gokarna

Member since: April 2014

My name is Gokarna and I am 44 years old. I live with my wife, our two children, 83 year old mother and two children of my brother in Lumbini. The place where Lord Buddha was born. In Nepal we generally have large families living together. Besides being a trekking guide, I have another passion, which is bird watching. One of my goals is to become a good bird watching instructor in Nepal. I hope both of these will interest you.
