Namaste, my name is Rekha and I come from beautiful Nepal. I live with my husband DB and my three kids in Pokhara. Besides my 3 kids, we take care of 16 orphan girls. The income of this class will support this.

Nepal has a distinguished cuisine that is full of flavor. A lot of people fall in love with Nepali food. My passion lies with our traditional momo's that I have learned to make at the age of 9 from my grandmother. Momo or dumpling in English is steamed meat or vegetables wrapped in flour dough. We used to make momo on special occasions like the many festivals we have in Nepal. It is very popular in Nepal and generally eaten as a snack.

My grandma and I started to prepare the dough very early in the morning and I loved the kneading of the soft dough. My grandma used to make the best veggie and meat momo's in town. Her special ingredient was her self-made momo masala.

During this 2-hour virtual momo cooking class via Zoom I would love to share our family momo recipe and achar (comes along with the momo) and teach our culinary traditions.

I would love to meet you soon online and share my family recipe for a delicious momo!

Hi, I am Rekha. I live with my family in Pokhara. I have three own biological children, two daughters, and one son. Besides that, I am taken care of 16 orphans. I like cooking a lot, and to create a way of income to take care of all these children, I provide cooking classes. I teach typical Nepali food like Daal Bhat, Momo’s, Puri, and much more.
