Hi, I am Said and I grew up in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. Via this experience me and my uncle would like to give you insight into the life of the Berbers.
You will meet our driver in Marrakesh at 09:00am at your hotel. On our way we will visit the weekly market of Asni (only on Saturday). The we will continue our journey toward the lake of Ouirgane and stop for making some pictures. We will arrive in Ljoukak Valley around 11:00am.
You will be warmly welcomed by the Berber family and see how they are making fresh bread in a wood fired clay oven and enjoy a generous breakfast. The we will walk through our village, down to the river, an up to visit a neighboring village. Learn about local farming practices in this village. Discover typical village life in a community of about 40 families.
Then you will have the chance to visit the Tinmel Mosque, one of the two mosques open to non-Muslims. We will get back for lunch at the Berber homestay and relax with tea.
After our lunch we will visit the village of potters. You can watch an artisan at work and may purchase a wonderful clay tagine to bring home if you wish.
We will depart Ljoukak around 16:30pm and will be back in Marrakesh an hour and a half later.
