- Duration: 2 days
- Maximum number of participants is 6
My village at the tip of Sabah started an eco-tourism initiative to protect and encourage more turtle nestlings on our stunning white sand beach of Lupa Masa Beach. We run it with the total community and it gives you the opportunity to experience our Rungus village life. By participating in our daily lives you will directly contribute to our community and to the turtle and reef protection programs.
We can take you out fishing (20 MYR per person per hour) or go for a hike that takes you in 3 to 4 hours up to the top of the hill near our village. It has fantastic views! If you are adventurous we can even camp on the top too. If not, we can go back to another beach and village and tell you about the use of medicinal plants and our village history (30 MYR per person).
If you would like to learn more about our traditional handicraft then the women of the village are happy to teach you this during a workshop (30 MYR per hour).
In the evening you will stay in a traditional Rungus Longhouse in the village with mattress and mosquito nets. Our families in the village will prepare your food.
This trip is 2 days/1 night.
- 15 MYR one-off conservation fee per person
