I'm Samuel and I am a passionate professional chef. I want to cherish and protect traditional Malaysian recipes. Malaysia's diverse food culture all exists due to its ethnic diversity.
We will cook at our high rise home where I will teach you all ins and outs of Malaysian cooking and century-old recipes. We will cook 3 different types of dishes and visit the busiest morning market in Penang that is not visited by tourists. Along the way, we will have a stopover at Him Heang, my no. 1 spot for local pastries!
After I pick you up, we'll first visit the Air Itam Market to buy and learn about unique local ingredients. It shows you perfectly the bustling morning lifestyle of the Malaysians. We'll also enjoy an authentic breakfast and sip a coffee at a famous nearby Kopitiam.
You will learn 3 signature dishes from a theme I set forward daily. Each theme is designed to revolve an ethnic's cuisine such as the Straits Chinese hawker food, Malay diverse spices, Mamak in action, Nyonya old wisdom etc. Book for a week if you have ample time to explore every ethnic cuisine of Malaysia!
You'll have the chance to taste my nutmeg juice during the class, it is very refreshing and a Penang native-grown produce.
