This is an experience of a lifetime. It is the perfect mix of seeing the big five in the Masai Mara National Park and getting a peek into the life of my Masai tribe. One day you are doing game drives, the other day you are sleeping in one of our Maasai community learning about their local life and the next day you are going on a walking safari with Maasai warriors while camping under a star-lit sky.

Day one:

As soon as you arrive you will be warmly welcomed with a welcome drink by our Maasai community. After settling in your tent you can enjoy a delicious authentic Kenyan meal, rest a bit before you have the option to see the wildlife of the Maasai Mara during a 2-hour game drive (optional and not included in the price). You will have the chance to see all the big five if we are lucky! In the evening you have the chance to enjoy the storytelling of one of our Maasai community members around a bonfire. He will tell about life as a Maasai and you can ask him as many questions as you wish. The day will end with a nutritious prepared meal.

Day two:

The next day we will raise early to continue our wildlife exploration (optional and not included in the price). When we return to the camp it is almost time for lunch. After lunch you can relax a bit before you will met one of our local Maasai communities where you will spend the night. It is still a very authentic community that hasn't already adjusted to travelers. The community elder will warmly welcome you into the community and show you your stone-build hut. The hut is basic with a double bed, sitting area with chairs and a table, and a bucket shower. You can join the community in their daily life, hear their storytelling, singing and dancing if there is any, herding the animals and ask as many questions as you wish. The next morning you can join the community for breakfast or prepare it yourself as you like.

Day 3:

We will pick you up around 10 am to join us for a typical Kenyan sweet chai and a chapatti in the local coffee shop before returning to the camp. If you are interested and we have time left we can visit one of our local schools that we have setup for the community. We will enjoy lunch at the camp and rest a bit.

Around 4 pm we will prepare for a walking safari with our Maasai warriors who will share with you their skills in animal tracking and their immense knowledge on the wildlife. The landscape you'll be walking through is pure Africa, with the archetypal savannah grasslands rolling as far as the eye can see under huge African skies. Walk back in time as local Maasai tribesmen guide you through their homeland on foot, offering an intimate discovery of the forest, waterfalls and birdlife. In the evening we will pitch our tents and the warriors will prepare a delicious Kenyan meal that you can enjoy around the bonfire while sharing stories.

Day 4:

We will raise early to avoid the heat of the sun. Today we walk slowly back to the camp having the chance seeing zebras, giraffes and gazelles. We will enjoy a picknick lunch in the bush. When back at the camp you have time relax and rest. In the evening you will be served a lovely bush dinner before heading home the next morning.

Hi, I am Nelson born and bred in a Masai community close to the Masai Mara. After having the chance to go to school I wanted to give back to my community and started a safari camp next to the Masai Mara. Now we are helping around 2000 community members and protecting wildlife in our conservancy. Come and stay with us and experience the true Masai Mara.
