DESCRIPTION

Enjoy steaming morning coffee or savor sundowners on your own verandah overlooking the astonishing views of the Menengai Crater. Take a plunge and wash off the dust of your game drive in our infinity pool. You will enjoy our African simplicity.

Each, grass thatched tented banda of our camp, has its own unique view on the crater. The banda’s are all equipped with comfortable beds, a pleasant verandah or private terrace.

Oil lamps set a romantic mood in our rustic restaurant. Our dishes are served with care and consist of fresh home cooked western and Swahili influenced food. Every morning we serve you home made bread from our small bakery, eggs to your taste, beans, bacon and fresh brewed coffee or tea. For the vegetarian people among you, we will always have something creative in mind.

With the camp we fund a hospitality educational center for women in the neighborhood. In this way we are providing them with an opportunity to earn sufficient money for their family. Some of them have the chance to practice their skills in our camp.

We are hidden a twenty minutes drive from lake Nakuru National Park. It is convenient as a stop over when you are on your way to Lake Turkana, Mount Elgon and Mount Kenya national Parks. Kisumu and the Ugandan border are only a day trip from here.

The prices per night is based on Kenyan resident. In case you are a Non-Kenyan resident 1600 KES per person per night will be added. From here you can either go back to Nairobi or continue your journey to itinerary stop 2 The Camel Safari Experience .

  • Half board

Location

The camp has a breathtaking view of Menengai Crater. The room is very clean and big. The stuff was very nice to talk to. I was also happy to receive delicious meals in the nice atmospheric restaurant. Everything was just perfect for me to stay in the middle of beautiful nature.

This was a beautiful hotel with wonderful views, delicious food and lovely staff! Rooms were huge and sitting by the log fire after an afternoon caught in the rains was such a pleasure. I wish I had stayed for longer than one night!

Beautiful location with stunning views over the Menengai Crater. Swimmingpool nice and refreshing after a hot and dusty safari. Lovely safari tent with shower and toilet inside the tent, so all comforts available. Nice food, fully equipped bar, fire in the evening, we will be back!

We had a great time at the Menengai Crater Camp. The view is amazing and the food migh be even better! Comparing this to the typical expensive tourist lodges this is definitely much more value for money! Great to stay for a couple of days during a Kenya tour or just for a weekend

What a wonderful place and initiative. The tents are comfortable and have a wonderful view on the crater. The staff is really friendly and the food is delicious. You really see that they want to serve you in the best way possible. The profit of the camp is going to educate locals in hospitality. Can definitely recommend!
