DESCRIPTION

Ok, this very special place is maybe not the local experience you would expect, but we think it is a beautiful place that supports local communities and care for the environment.

This wonderful accommodation is more than just accommodation. It is a way of social and environmental friendly living with the goal to connect people from all around the world. It is located near the small town of Kilifi at the beautiful emerald waters of Kilifi Creek. Adventurers and creatives from around the world gather here to share tales of the road, mingle with the local community, and enjoy the beautiful ocean views and sunsets that Kenya has to offer.

We place much emphasis on the responsible management of waste and resources by promoting and applying at all times the ‘Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle’ philosophy to preserve natural resources, landfill space, emissions, and energy. We produce vegetables, have a little shop that sells products made by locals, organize workshops, yoga classes and we serve some of the most delicious, mouth-watering and reasonably priced food on the coast.

We offer beautifully designed ensuite bandas with their own outdoor bathrooms. Our toilets are built with recycled materials and produce fantastic natural fertilizer for the garden.

You can chill at the pool, the beach or at our big comfy homemade pillows, and hammocks!

Meet Tom, Romain and the community

Ask a question

Together with a group of friends Tom and Romain travelled from Ethiopia down to Cape Town and fell in love with Kilifi on the way. Inspired by some other backpackers along the way they decided to come back and set up this little paradise! Our goals is to bring people together from all around the world to learn and share with one another and build lasting, positive relationships based on an understanding and appreciation of community and sustainability. Tom is originally from Zimbabwe, lived many years South Africa and also in Australia. Romain is from France, lived some years in the US, Ireland, South Africa and Australia. We now run this place with mainly locals from the village next door.

Location

We stayed at this great place. It has a lovely vibe and has been started by Tom and Romain. Every guest becomes part of a social community and everybody we met was soooo open. The banda was beautiful with an open-air shower. The food was delicious and cheap. It is a very creative setting and we definitely come back! Loved it! Thanks.
