Description

DESCRIPTION

Warangan village is located between Magelang and Ngaduman. What is special about this village is that they are well known for their roses (we called mawar jawa). The village is full of roses that farmers have planted on their farms. Every morning they start their day at 5 am to carry their tenggok (Javanese multi function place made of plaited bamboo, where you can put any things especially food) filled with all sorts of roses to the (temporary) flower market to sell their flowers. The market is open daily from 6 till 8 am.

During your stay you will have the chance to immerse in the farmers family life and join them in their activities like planting, maintaining or harvesting the roses and maybe even help to sell them on the market. You will have an in depth experience and enjoy their warmth and hospitality, learn about their daily lives and habits and exchange stories.

Meeting point will be in Yogyakarta.

Hello, I am Mart! I am graduated from the Indonesian Institute Of The Arts in Yogyakarta and specialized in classical music. My instrument is percussion. During my studies I often organized travel trips to local villages and stay with a local family form y foreign students. I liked it so much that I abandoned my music career in 2008 to fully focus on being an independent adventure leader.
