Welcome to our village! Jasri is a small fishing town located in the eastern part of Bali. Together with all the villagers we started a collaboration to open up our village to people who would be interested in experiencing typical Balinese village life. In these next two days you will experience life in our village as well as cycle, trek through our beautiful surroundings and enjoy our lovely beach.
As soon as you arrive you will be warmly welcomed by one of our families where you will spend the coming 2 nights. We will hop on a bicycle and cycle through the rice fields, have a glimpse of our village life and cycle alongside the sea. In the evening a typical Balinese dinner will be served by your family.
The next morning waking up by the families’ rooster, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast with fresh fruits and eggs of your choice. Today it’s time to do some leg exercise, and we will do a 3-hour trekking through the surroundings of Jasri. You will meet the local farmers who are working in their rice fields and learn about the traditional farming methods they use. Explore the wide variety of vegetation and plants that grow along the edge of the rice fields. Some of the plants are used for food and others also for traditional medicine; banana trees, lemon grass, turmeric, jackfruit, palm, coconut, pineapples that grow side by side. Sip a fresh young coconut picked by a farmer on the way.
Around noon a delicious lunch will be served. After having taken a rest we will explore the village. You can see how the local utilities are made in a traditional way and even learn how to make pottery yourself! We end the day with a relaxing Balinese massage. Dinner will be served by your family in the evening. If you wish you can help with preparing the food and learn how to make traditional Balinese food yourself.
After a good night rest and a savory breakfast it is time to say goodbye to your family. We hope to see you again some day!
