Description
DESCRIPTION
We will cycle through rice paddy fields, pass villages and lively markets, people working on their land, see and experience the people daily life near Battambang. There can be more stops at places of interest, depending on your riding pace and interest. This easy ride is approximately 35km on flat roads (some paved and some on a dirt road).
This tour is the same as the except for the fact that you will enjoy a typical Cambodian lunch at a local family’s house, learn about the process of making the Cambodian traditional products, and monastic life of a young Cambodian monk.
This tour is designed to give you a deeper understanding of Cambodian livelihood. You will learn and meet local people directly by having our student guide host and translate for you. Besides learning about the traditional ways of living, it will also give you insight into farming procedures. We will share with you traditional farming methods and the growing seasons in Cambodia.
Along with viewing the production of and sampling traditional Cambodian products, you will also get to know more about the history of Battambang and the period of the Pol Pot regime.
At the end of this day, you will have a good insight into the daily life of Cambodia’s countryside and traditional livelihoods. An impression, I hope, will last!
The tour starts at 7:30am and ends between 3.30 pm-4pm.
This tour started in 2010 in collaboration with a social enterprise and local college students with the intention of providing vocational training to local college students while also educating tourists about everyday life in Cambodia. With this tour you are directly contributing to the local community in a sustainable, environmentally friendly way that facilitates cross-cultural communication between local communities and travelers.
