Description

DESCRIPTION

Appreciate the traditional shadow puppet theatre of Angkor in the most fun way possible - by making a leather shadow puppet in the Cambodian style! What better way to connect personally with local Cambodia society than learning thousand-year-old skills from a local craftsman? Nang sbek (shadow theatre) is actually a dying art form and is at risk of disappearing because of new forms of electronic and digital entertainment. Now you can be part of keeping the beauty of traditional Cambodian culture alive.

Spend a while relaxing with a local leather carver to design and carve one of your leather puppets and explore the most interesting history of this Cambodian folk art. Patiently focus as the experienced local teacher guides you through the fun traditional techniques.
