Kathmandu and around

For many Kathmandu will be the first experience with Nepal. It is a riot of sights, sounds and smells that can quickly lead to sensory overload. Strolling though the alleyways of the old town, marveling at the medieval temples of Durbar Sq. or dodging trekking touts in Thamel, Kathmandu can be an intoxicating, amazing and exhausting place.

The Kathmandu valley is the most accessible from Kathmandu and showcases all the beauty Nepal has to offer. The valley is a patchwork of terraced fields and sacred temple towns. The most visited cities in this area are the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Patan, Bodhnath and Bhaktapur.
